CORONAVIRUS COVID-19

URGENT

To all our supporters and those in need of help

Following on from Boris Johnson's Statement this evening Homeless Pembrokeshire can only now offer online advice due to what is effectively a lock down situation.

Homeless Emergency Rough Sleeper Packs are situated in the Police Stations and we can replace these when needed.

We have been busy encouraging rough sleepers and those known to be Sofa Surfing to contact PCC for advice regarding emergency accommodation.

We will continue to liaise with the food banks & services available for clients online and by telephone to try and get help to you.

We will seek advice from the authorities first if help is required and cannot be sourced from elsewhere.

We will continue to keep you fully updated on any changes and events.

HP is still as strong as ever and we will get through these difficult times together.

A message from the Trustees

Hi and welcome to Amanda's Homeless Pembrokeshire!

We are a small unregistered charity (under £5000) based in Pembrokeshire which was started by Amanda C Evans in 2017.

All trustees and volunteers are unpaid ensuring that all donations are used for those important people that require our help.

Amanda and Jane are available 7 days of the week including Bank Holidays.

Our overheads are low as we work from home.

A bit about us:-

Amanda, who when out running in Kent, saw a homeless person but was too worried to approach as she was on her own, was devastated to discover the following morning that this person had sadly died that night.

She vowed to do something and has never forgotten this person

On moving to Pembrokeshire, Amanda, with friends started knitting hats for the Homeless.

This progressed to providing emergency packs for those that were forced to sleep rough.

Homeless Pembrokeshire now provides advice, attends meetings and offers support to those seeking housing

We often succeed to access housing for the Homeless where others have failed

We have again evolved to helping those that are suffering food poverty and any related problems.

Recently we opened a Baby Bank where emergency baby supplies can be obtained seven days a week free of charge.

We have newborn baby packs offering all new clothing etc as that special present to welcome a new baby.

We have found that the food banks are often closed when people are in crisis.

Pembrokeshire is a rural County it is therefore often difficult for those in need to access help during opening hours.

So we are open seven days a week to ensure that no one goes hungry.

Often food poverty is caused by delays or sanctions by Universal Credit which was rolled out in Pembrokeshire in April 2018.

We can help if you find yourself in this predicament. most importantly remember there is no shame and you are not alone.

We are constantly adjusting to peoples's needs and have some very interesting projects in the pipeline.

Our Facebook Group "Homeless Pembrokeshire" is a closed Group so you will have to apply to join unfortunately.

If you are in need please PM Amanda C Evans or Jane Rees via our Facebook page.

If you like what you read in Amanda's Blog please donate.

100% of all donations are used to help those in crisis.
